Could a Destiny’s Child reunion happen during the 2027 Super Bowl Halftime Show?
Last month, it was announced that Jay-Z, who is the NFL’s “live music entertainment strategist,” will serve as the halftime show performer for Super Bowl LXI.
While speaking exclusively with PEOPLE during the Airbnb.org Gala in Hollywood on Oct. 28, Kelly Rowland — a close friend of Jay-Z’s through her friendship with his wife, and her former girl group member, Beyoncé — teased whether Destiny’s Child could make a surprise appearance during the performance.
“That’s none of my business,” Rowland admitted. “That’s his performance. That’s none of my business.”

Destiny’s Child featured six total members across its history, with its most notable lineup made up of Rowland, Beyoncé, 45, and Michelle Williams.
Others part of the girl group throughout the years included LeToya Luckett and LaTavia Roberson, former original members, and Farrah Franklin, who joined in early 2000 alongside Williams, 47, after the departure of Luckett, 45, and Roberson, 44. (Franklin, 45, left the group after six months.)
The Grammy Award-winning group released four studio albums, one Christmas LP and several compilation projects between 1990 and 2006.
Some of Destiny’s Child’s biggest hits include “Say My Name,” “Independent Women Part I,” “Survivor,” “Bootylicious,” “Lose My Breath” and “Bills, Bills, Bills.”

After Destiny’s Child disbanded in 2006, Rowland, Beyoncé and Williams have remained close friends, and the group has reunited on various occasions over the years, including during Beyoncé’s Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show in 2013, at the Stellar Gospel Music Awards in 2015 to perform Williams’ song “Say Yes,” for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in 2018 — when Beyoncé headlined — and to help wrap the final stop of Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter tour in 2025.
Most recently, during Jay-Z’s 30th anniversary concert at SoFi Stadium on Oct. 23, Rowland, Williams and Beyoncé reunited to support the rapper.
“We were there for our big brother, Bey’s there for her man,” Rowland told PEOPLE of the moment. “He put on a hell of a show. Friday was incredible, but Saturday? I don’t know how that roof was still on because the energy in there was just palpable. It was absolutely amazing.”
Jay-Z will perform during the halftime show of Super Bowl LXI, which is scheduled for Feb. 14, 2027, at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif.
