Why Kylie Jenner and Timothée Chalamet Don’t Want to ‘Rush an Engagement’

The makeup mogul and the actor have been dating since 2023

Timothée Chalamet and Kylie Jenner aren’t in a rush to walk the down the aisle.

The Marty Supreme star, 30, and the makeup mogul, 28, have been in a relationship for over three years and a source tells PEOPLE that the couple is letting their romance progress at its own pace.

“Kylie and Timmy are very much in love,” the source says. “They don’t have plans to rush an engagement. They love how their relationship is.”

Chalamet and Jenner have made numerous public appearances together this year, including at the 2026 Critics Choice Awards, 2026 Oscars, 2026 NBA Finals, and 2026 World Cup Final.

The source says that the couple recently “went away on a double vacation” with Jenner’s sister, Kendall, and boyfriend Jacob Elordi. The foursome spent time in Malibu for a “staycation.”

In late June, a source told PEOPLE that Chalamet and Jenner are “in a great place” in their relationship.

“They both are in a great place, make each other laugh and friends and family love them together,” the source said. “Kylie is so relaxed with him, he puts her at ease and she makes him feel so secure. Friends can see them in it for the long haul, but they aren’t rushing anything.”

The actor and the Kylie Cosmetics founder have been dating since 2023. They were first seen interacting that January at Jean Paul Gaultier‘s show during Paris Fashion Week. A source told PEOPLE that April that the two stars were “hanging out and getting to know each other.”

Months later in September 2023, the pair made their first public appearance together, packing on the PDA at Beyoncé‘s Renaissance World Tour stop in Los Angeles. A source told PEOPLE at the time that the relationship was “fun and uncomplicated” for Jenner, and noted of Chalamet, “He is charming, very loving and protective of Kylie. She likes that he is a private guy.”

As the months went on, the two had many public outings together. By August 2024, a source told PEOPLE that Jenner — who is mom to daughter Stormi, 8, and son Aire, 4 — has “never been in love like this before” and is “incredibly happy with him.” They added of the Wonka star, “He’s great for her. He’s so discreet and always has her back. He’s very much a gentleman and everything that Kylie deserves.”

In May 2025, Jenner and Chalamet made their red carpet debut as a couple at the 70th David Di Donatello Awards in Rome.

They’ve been going strong ever since, even when they must navigate a long-distance relationship at times.
