Vanessa Hudgens Takes on the Summer Slipdress in L’Agence

The actress and singer attended Thursday night’s HollyShorts Film Festival.

Vanessa Hudgens embraced the final days of the summer in her L’Agence slipdress for the 2026 HollyShorts Film Festival held at the TCL Chinese Theatre on Thursday night in Los Angeles.

The “High School Musical” alum wore a white satin dress with a scoop neckline and black lining. Hudgens’ dress was mostly formfitting, but still had fluidity.

As for accessories, the actress and singer wore delicate pieces of silver jewelry including earrings, a necklace, bracelet and rings. Hudgens’ capped off her summertime red carpet look with a pair of glittering strappy sandal heels.

When it came to glam, Hudgens’ heightened her summertime style with soft curls that cascaded down her back and a side part with extra volume. Makeup highlights included bold brows, lined eyes and a neutral lip.

The L’Agence dress was peak summer styling, putting a modern spin on ’90s minimals. The slipdress style saw a resurgence in 2024, on the heels of the rise of Y2K styles that began to trend among Gen Z, with reinterpretations of low-rise jeans, ballet flats and more.

That same fervor for ’90s and early 2000s styles has been seen among a dominant crop of celebrities, including Zendaya and Keke Palmer, who’ve turned to luxury fashion pieces of decades past for recent red carpet moments.

With Hudgens’ L’Agence slipdress, however, its an overlap of different fashion moments congregating into one red carpet style statement — the ease and appeal of ’90s minimalism with a summery styling and slipdress resurgence.

Founded in 2005, the HollyShorts Film Festival is an Academy Award-qualifying and BAFTA-qualifying independent short film festival that showcases short films under 40 minutes from a variety of genres and offers an opportunity for burgeoning filmmakers to connect with distributors and executives.
