Seth Rogen & Olivia Wilde’s Dinner Party Goes Off the Rails in New ‘The Invite’ Trailer & Posters

A24 has released a brand-new trailer for The Invite, the upcoming romantic comedy directed by and starring Olivia Wilde.

The film features an all-star cast that includes Seth Rogen, Penélope Cruz, and Edward Norton, and marks Olivia‘s third feature as a director following Booksmart and Don’t Worry Darling.

The Invite centers on married couple Joe (Rogen) and Angela (Wilde), whose relationship is struggling when they decide to host their mysterious upstairs neighbors, Hawk (Norton) and Pina (Cruz), for dinner.

According to the official synopsis, “Joe and Angela’s marriage is on thin ice. When they invite their enigmatic upstairs neighbors for a dinner party, the night spirals into unexpected places. Have they reignited the spark or lit the match that burns it all down?”

The newly released trailer offers a glimpse of the chaotic evening, with Joe and Angela already at odds before their guests even arrive. Things only become more complicated once Hawk and Pina join the gathering.

Based on Cesc Gay‘s Spanish-language film The People Upstairs, The Invite was adapted by Will McCormack and Rashida Jones.

The comedy will debut in select theaters on June 26 before expanding nationwide on July 10.
