Monica Barbaro Set For ‘Ocean’s Prequel Opposite Margot Robbie & Bradley Cooper

Oscar nominee Monica Barbaro is joining Bradley Cooper’s crew for the Warner Bros’ Ocean’s Eleven prequel.

She’ll join Cooper, Margot Robbie and Oscar-nominated The Secret Agent actor Wagner Moura. The pic, which is dated for June 25, 2027, is readying for a shoot.

Twelve-time Oscar nominee Cooper is directing and producing with Robbie’s LuckyChap. The Star Is Born filmmaker and star also is penning the screenplay based on the characters by George Clayton Johnson and Jack Golden Russell. Previous drafts were penned by Carrie Solomon. Mum is the word on the plot line.

Barbaro is hot off her sold-out run in Les Liaisons Dangereuses at London’s National Theatre opposite Lesley Manville and Aidan Turner and next can be seen starring as the co-lead opposite Callum Turner of Universal’s One Night Only from director Will Gluck, out August 7. Upcoming, she stars opposite Yura Borisov and Andrew Garfield as Mira Murati in Luca Guadagnino’s Artificial, which recently was acquired by Neon. She earned her first Oscar and Actor Award nominations in 2025 for her star-making performance as the iconic folk singer and activist Joan Baez opposite Timothée Chalamet in James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic A Complete Unknown for Searchlight. In 2022, she also garnered critical acclaim for her breakout role as Phoenix opposite Tom Cruise and Miles Teller in Top Gun: Maverick, which received six Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

The Ocean’s prequel EPs are Josey McNamara, Bronte Payne, Bobby Wilhelm, Jay Roach, Michelle Graham, Lee Isaac Chung, Ashely Jay Sandberg, Gary Ross and Olivia Milch.
