Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s Daughters ‘Do Have a Relationship with Their Dad’ After Divorce Despite Reports

Urban and Kidman split in September 2025 after nearly 20 years of marriage, and later finalized their divorce in January

Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman’s daughters continue to have a relationship with their father.

Despite reports claiming the ex-spouses’ daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 15, no longer speak to Urban, 58, following their parents’ divorce, a source tells PEOPLE the girls remain in contact with the country star.

“The girls are very close with their mom and also protective of her,” says the source. “They do have a relationship with their dad, too.”

The source continues, “The family dynamic is much more normal than people assume.”

PEOPLE reached out to reps for Urban and Kidman for comment.

The exes split in September 2025 after nearly 20 years of marriage, and later finalized their divorce in January.

Kidman, 58, shared a throwback photo with Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret to Instagram on Sunday, May 10 in celebration of Mother’s Day.

“To my beautiful girls, the greatest joy is being your mother,” wrote the Scarpetta actress. “Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers in the world.”

Earlier this month, Kidman walked the 2026 Met Gala carpet with Sunday Rose.

The Oscar winner opened up about her life post-divorce in a March interview with Variety. When asked if she was “doing all right” in the months since their separation, Kidman said, “I am, because I’m always going to be moving toward what’s good.”

“What I’m grateful for is my family and keeping them as is and moving forward. That’s that,” Kidman added. “Everything else I don’t discuss out of respect. I’m staying in a place of, ‘We are a family,’ and that’s what we’ll continue to be. My beautiful girls, my darlings, who are suddenly women.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kidman revealed she’s staying in Nashville post-divorce after living there with Urban for two decades. “We have our life here,” she told Variety. “I’m part of the city and community for 20 years. It’s my home.”

Upon finalizing their divorce in January, Kidman was granted primary residential custody of their daughters in Nashville. Both parents agreed, however, to share responsibility for major future decisions in their daughter’s lives, PEOPLE previously reported.
