Jennifer Aniston shares the life advice her ‘dear friend’ Dolly Parton gave her

The “Friends” alum and the “Queen of Country” collaborated on the 2018 movie “Dumplin’.”

Jennifer Aniston just shared the best advice she received, which happened to have come from Dolly Parton.

“She would say, ‘I chased a few rainbows and I caught some,’” Aniston told the crowd Wednesday at the 92nd Street Y in New York City. “So I would say just go chase your dreams and go catch some rainbows. Chase rainbows.”

Aniston was at the venue to interview her boyfriend, author Jim Curtis, but she answered a few questions herself from the stage.

The Friends alum referred to Parton, who died Aug. 25 at 80, as a “dear friend.”

The women worked together during the making of the 2018 film Dumplin’, in which Aniston starred and Parton contributed music. The film is about a plus-size teenager (Willowdean, who’s played by Danielle Macdonald) living in the shadow of her mom, a former beauty queen played by Aniston, who decides to lead a rebellion.

Willowdean finds inspira“I didn’t think any more about [the book] until Jennifer Aniston’s company called me a couple years ago sayin’ that she was doing it as a movie and was gonna be starrin’ in it and asking if they could license some of my original music for the movie,” Parton told Entertainment Weekly in December 2018. “And I said, ‘Of course.’”

Ultimately, the “Here You Come Again” singer ended up contributing most of the songs, including one called “Push and Pull” that featured both Macdonald and Aniston.

Aniston told Entertainment Tonight that recording with Parton had been both “terrifying and fun.” When the interviewer told her recording with the country music legend had been “fearless,” Aniston said it was more like “fearful.

“But I had Dolly and [producer] Linda Perry there, who were just patient and wonderful,” Aniston said.

The Friends alum called the moment “a wonderful dream of a lifetime.”

Parton complimented her costar.

“She did a good, though, I have to say,” Parton raved. “She was a little nervous at the start, but she walked in there like she does everything else, like a real pro.”

Aniston said that, when she finished singing, she “burst into tears.”

She recalled having been a fan of Parton when she was little and singing into a hairbrush.
