Dakota Johnson Embraces the Color of the Moment—and a Surprising Jewelry Choice

Stars are just like us: They love to attend a cute little summer concert.

Last night in L.A., Dakota Johnson linked up with fellow actor Odessa A’zion to attend the St. Vincent concert at Hollywood Bowl. And though the two friends were engaging in a little off-duty fun, their outfits were still polished to A-list perfection (after all, you never know when you will end up on the Jumbotron—or even brought out on stage).

Johnson’s evening concert outfit? It revolved around her signature 1970s style. The star chose bohemian-leaning pieces and made them feel super modern: She paired a structured brown suede jacket with a minty-green slip dress. And the hue of her frock could not be more of-the-moment: Mint (call it toothpaste dressing) has been trending on both the runways and celebrities alike. I mean, remember the craze for those Blazy-era Chanel shoes?

Johnson finished off the look with Valentino’s floral Nellcôte tote, and discreet black ballerina flats. But her most striking accessory of all was perhaps the most subtle of the bunch: Around her ankle, the star sported a little gold anklet.

An anklet is one of those saucy little outfit additions that are certainly not necessary or practical, but elevate the look nonetheless; Everyone from Rihanna to Hailey Bieber has been rocking them this summer, making the case that luxurious golds (or even diamonds, in Rih’s case) are made for walking. Sure, you can treat yourself to a tennis bracelet any day—but is there more of a flex than rocking expensive jewelry two inches above the ground? In any case, her day-off concert look gets a 10 out of 10 as a result—no notes.
