Dakota Johnson and Role Model Split Up ‘a While Ago’

The actress and singer were first linked in December 2025

Dakota Johnson and Role Model have gone their separate ways less than a year after they were first linked.

The Materialists actress, 36, and the “Look at That Woman” singer, 29, whose real name is Tucker Pillsbury, ended their relationship “a while ago,” a source exclusively tells PEOPLE.

Reps for Johnson and Pillsbury have not responded to PEOPLE’s request for comment.

The former couple were first seen dining together in December 2025 before they were spotted again on a date in Los Angeles the following month.

“It’s definitely more than a fling, or just a flirt,” a source told PEOPLE in April of the relationship, adding they’d been dating “since late last year.”

At the time, the source said Johnson “does really like” the musician “but is also taking things slow after her previous long-term relationship.” Johnson previously dated Coldplay frontman Chris Martin in an on-and-off relationship from October 2017 until June 2025. The two were also reportedly engaged for “years.”

Johnson and Pillsbury didn’t publicly speak about their relationship, but a source told PEOPLE in April that they were “very much on the same page,” adding that “it just feels easy” between them.

Johnson and Pillsbury ended up collaborating together on a track from his newest album, Chuck Timely & the Hourglass. Johnson is featured in a spoken-word moment on “Love I You,” after she spontaneously dropped by the studio while he was recording the track. In her segment, Johnson exchanges flirty lines with Pillsbury in a spoken bridge.

Prior to Johnson, Pillsbury was linked to influencer Emma Chamberlain from 2020 to 2023. Before Martin, 49, Johnson was linked to Noah Gersh, Jordan Masterson and Matthew Hitt.

Johnson will soon hit the big screen once again in Verity alongside Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett. She is also currently in production on Three Incestuous Sisters, with Saoirse Ronan, Jessie Buckley and Josh O’Connor.
