Dakota Johnson and MGK Keep Their Romance Going with Night Out at Los Angeles Party

The couple were first linked in early September

Dakota Johnson and MGK are ramping up their romance.

The Verity actress, 37, and musician, whose real name is Colson Baker, were photographed attending an exclusive party hosted by clothing brand Khaite in Los Angeles on Nov. 5. The outing came two days after they were seen enjoying a night out in Calabasas, Calif.

Johnson walked the red carpet at the event in a black zip-up hoodie and a black lace-trimmed skirt that she paired with black knee-high boots.

Meanwhile, Machine Gun Kelly, 36, was photographed walking down the street after a dinner outing with Johnson at Dan Tana’s restaurant in West Hollywood. He wore a green satin bomber jacket and light blue track pants. He kept his hood upand only his eyes were visible as he covered the rest of his face with a red bandana.

The couple were first photographed spending time together outside Taylor Swift‘s apartment on Sept. 12. Days later, a source close to MGK told PEOPLE the two “have been hanging out and seeing each other under the radar for months now,” after connecting at Swift’s July wedding to Travis Kelce.

They “started off as friends and were texting often, but now they’re spending more time together,” the source added. “It’s a very new start, but they’re smitten with each other right now.”

A month later, a source close to the singer told PEOPLE that the two were continuing to see each other and were “spending more time together.”

“They have been out on dates that people don’t know about because there aren’t any photos,” the source said, adding that they were in the “dating phase” but “aren’t ready to go official yet.”

However, the source also noted that “both really like each other” and had been seeing each other “more frequently.”

The singer and actress connected over their “same dry and dark sense of humor,” and they “make each other laugh,” the source concluded.

Two weeks later, a source close to Johnson told PEOPLE that the actress is “happy” and “enjoys spending time” with MGK.

“There’s a lot of chemistry and she’s been going to the studio with him while he works,” the source added. “For now, it makes her happy.”

Johnson was previously romantically linked to musician Role Model earlier this year, following the end of her on-and-off relationship with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin from October 2017 until June 2025. The former couple were reportedly engaged for “years” before breaking it off.

Meanwhile, MGK was last linked to actress Megan Fox, with whom he shares their 19-month-old daughter, Saga Blade. MGK is also a dad to daughter Casie whom he welcomed in 2009 with ex Emma Cannon.
