Cher ‘Shocked’ to Learn She Has a Secret Granddaughter, 15, Through Troubled Son Elijah Blue Allman, Source Says

Cher was “shocked” after recently being told that she has a 15-year-old granddaughter who was kept a secret from her for over a decade, a source exclusively tells The Daily Enquirer.
The “Believe” singer, 79, was first told about rumors that her troubled son, Elijah Blue Allman, had a daughter in 2021, reveals the family source: “Cher knew that she had a potential grandchild but didn’t know it was true until recently as she’s had contact with the mother.”

Elijah, whose father is late rocker Gregg Allman, “has known for the whole time — the whole 15 years — but only decided to tell people in 2021 as he was having issues,” the source says of the musician, who first filed for divorce from Marieangela King that year.
“He’s met her and there are pictures of the pair,” a source says of the teen, who lives not far from the Oscar winner’s Malibu home.
The Daily Enquirer obtained an exclusive image of Cher’s alleged granddaughter, though her face has been obscured to protect her privacy.

“Elijah has never wanted his mom to be in the kid’s life because of their damaged relationship,” the source adds. “He wanted to protect her from Cher.”
The pair have been at odds since at least 2023, when the Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star tried to place her son under a conservatorship — similar to the one that was controversially used to control Britney Spears’ life for 13 years — to help manage his finances, citing his longtime struggles with addiction and mental health.
“While I understand that my mother, the proposed conservator, believes she is looking out for my best interests and I appreciate her love and support, I do not need her unsolicited help or support at this time,” Allman responded in court documents.
A judge at the Superior Court of Los Angeles County later dismissed the application, saying she had “not been persuaded” by Cher’s case.
But the scion, who will turn 50 this year, was recently arrested twice in three days. He was charged with trespassing, assault, criminal threatening and disorderly conduct at St. Paul’s prep school in New Hampshire — after which he reportedly told cops he was a prospective parent, Rector Kathy Giles wrote in an email to parents, per the Concord Monitor.

Two days later, he was booked for burglary and criminal mischief after allegedly breaking into a home nearby. He’s currently being held in jail awaiting trial.
“Elijah is clearly in a terrible state right now, his life is completely out of control and it’s obvious he’s in no condition to be a parent,” the source says. “He needs to look after himself now, try to avoid jail and then somehow get back on track.”
“In the meantime his kid’s mom is protecting his daughter and keeping them apart, she’s like a mama bear and focusing on the daughter’s needs more than anything else,” continues the source.
“Elijah desperately needs help, even he would be hard pressed to deny that,” concludes the source. “So until that happens there’s no sense in having him near his daughter.”
