All the Stars at the 2026 US Open
From Emma Roberts and Tate McRae to Vera Wang, Orlando Bloom, and Paul Anthony Kelly
After a week of exhibition matches and brand activations—a time affectionately referred to as Fan Week—the 2026 US Open has officially kicked off in New York City. On Sunday, tennis champions took to the courts at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center to begin the competitions.
The daytime matches saw American Jessica Pegula defeat Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, and Daniil Medvedev (originally from Russia) defeat France’s Hugo Gaston. But the shock factor came in the evening, when Argentine Mariano Navone defeated Serbian star player Novak Djokovic, and American Sofia Kenin defeated fellow American (icon) Venus Williams.
Mega fans, including several celebrated figures from entertainment, sports, and fashion, gathered at Arthur Ashe Stadium for the Opening Day action. Tate McRae, Orlando Bloom, Emma Roberts, Paul Anthony Kelly, Gayle King, and Vera Wang were among the VIPs who were spotted sitting in luxury boxes for the matches.
This Monday, even more notable fans rushed in for day two of the tennis tournament, which this morning saw Belarusian star Aryna Sabalenka defeat Colombia’s Camila Osorio, and will see beloved pros Carlos Alcaraz (Spain), Naomi Osaka (U.S.), and Ben Shelton (U.S.) hit the courts.
The fourth and final Grand Slam of the tennis calendar (which follows the Australian Open, the French Open, and Wimbledon) continues through Sunday, September 13, and will once again overlap with New York Fashion Week, so you bet we’ll see plenty of stylish stars hitting the stands to watch some great tennis.
