Alexander Skarsgård’s See-Through Shoes at Wicker Red Carpet Will Toe-Tally Make You Do a Double Take

Alexander Skarsgård wore Saint Laurent’s controversial transparent shoes to a red carpet screening of Wicker at the BFI London Film Festival. The clear plastic oxfords were inspired by OnlyFans.

Alexander Skarsgård is putting his foot forward.

In fact, the actor exposed both his feet when he stepped out in a pair of clear plastic shoes at the BFI London Film Festival screening of his erotic film Wicker Oct. 8

Designed by Saint Laurent for its Spring 2027 collection, the transparent oxfords—which also featured a black sole and matching laces—were cheekily named O.Fan after OnlyFans, the popular subscription-based platform known for hosting adult content.

“It was a joke between us to say, ‘I don’t understand why men are scared to show their feet,'” Saint Laurent’s freelance design director of shoes Corrado De Biase explained in an interview with Women’s Wear Daily published Oct. 5, “because there’s a lot of beautiful men that have beautiful feet and like to show it.”

“And that’s why those shoes are called ‘O. Fan,’ like OnlyFans, because everyone knows that’s the new obsession of gay communities, to show their feet on OnlyFans,” he continued. “So why not celebrate this?”

And Skarsgård is no stranger to wearing avant-garde footwear on red carpet. After all, he made waves at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival when he wore thigh-high leather boots to the premiere of his movie Pillion, which he described as a “kinky gay biker, sub-dom story.”

“It was my first time at Cannes and I was very excited about it,” Skarsgård told W Magazine last year. “My character wears a lot of leather in the movie, so it just felt fitting to wear a little bit of leather on the carpet and to the premiere.”

While the True Blood alum did “steer clear of making the mistake of Googling my name” after appearing at the famously dress-code-conscious event, Skarsgård said he “had a lot of fun” with the outfit.

“Whatever you wear, it’s about how you feel. Are you excited to wear it? Does it make you happy?” he added. “You want to wear something that makes you radiate happiness and excitement.”

But that’s not to say the 50-year-old—the son of actor Stellan Skarsgård—dresses extravagantly on the daily. Having grown up in Stockholm, his approach to everyday fashion is “steeped in the Swedish style and architecture.”

“It’s very minimalistic and clean. The color palette is quite monochromatic,” he explained. “So, that’s my preference, in a way. But then, it’s also fun to break that, and go in a completely different direction, and to change the color palette a bit, and the conformity of it.”
