Amy Schumer and her ex-husband, Chris Fischer, have finalized their divorce, just over 10 months after the former couple announced their split.

Schumer, 45, and Fischer, 46, have officially divorced, PEOPLE can confirm, after the New York Supreme Court recently updated the status of their case to “disposed.” While the exact date their divorce was finalized remains unclear because divorce records are sealed in New York state, court documents indicate the case’s disposition date was changed to Feb. 25.

The former couple, who married in 2018 and share a 7-year-old son, Gene, announced they were ending their marriage after seven years in an Instagram post shared by the comedian and actress on Dec. 12, 2025.

“Blah blah blah Chris and I have made the difficult decision to end our marriage after 7 years,” Schumer wrote in that post, which appears to have since been deleted. “We love each other very much and will continue to focus on raising our son. We would appreciate people respecting our privacy at this time. blah blah blah not becisse I dropped some lbs and thought I could bag s basket and not because he’s a hot Janlmes beard award winning chef who can still pull some hot tail. Amicable and all love and respect! Family forever.”

At the time, a source close to the couple told PEOPLE, “There’s nothing ugly. It’s a cohesive split. They’ve just been finalizing a few things.”

Schumer and Fischer, a professional chef, were first romantically linked in 2017 and got married in February 2018 in Malibu, Calif. A source told PEOPLE in November 2025 that the pair were “privately working through normal issues that couples in long-term marriages have.”

In a Dec. 1, 2025 Instagram post, Schumer addressed speculation about her marriage and wrote, “Whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,” alongside a longer update on her recent health journey. “Fingers crossed we make it through,” she added at that time. “He’s the best.”

Schumer appeared to poke fun at her own divorce proceedings over the winter. On Valentine’s Day in February, she shared a photo of herself standing in front of decorations that read, “CRYING CORNER,” one day after what would have marked Schumer and Fischer’s eighth wedding anniversary. “Give yourself all the love today,” she wrote on her Instagram Stories at the time. “Happy vday.”
