Keke Palmer was announced as a presenter at the Emmys — but she didn’t show up.

The Nope actress was set to present the award for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series at the ceremony on Monday alongside SNL star Marcello Hernández. However, Hernández ultimately presented the award to Widow’s Bay‘s Hiro Murai all by himself.

Entertainment Weekly has reached out to representatives for Palmer and the Emmys for more information.

Hernández didn’t miss a beat in his presentation at the ceremony, using his time on stage to say hello to Harrison Ford, Zendaya, and Oscar Isaac, who were respectively nominated for their work in Shrinking, Euphoria, and Beef. He also said hello to Matthew McConaughey, who presented the award for Outstanding Comedy Series at the end of the show alongside Woody Harrelson.

“I don’t know what parties I’ve been invited to, and I don’t know what parties you have been invited to, so just very quickly I would like to say hello to Harrison Ford,” the comedian joked. “You are a legend and a real inspiration to me, and i would like to invite you to have dinner at my house.”

Hernández also addressed Tom Holland, who attended the event with Zendaya. “I wanna say hi to Zendaya. Hi. You’re a beast and you’re amazing, and I saw you and I wanted to play it cool, and I decided I can’t do that,” he said. “So I would like to invite you and Spider-Man to have dinner at my house. ’Sup, man.”

Palmer shared a post on Instagram promoting her forthcoming interview with Octavia Spencer on her Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast just a couple of hours before the ceremony started.

Palmer’s show The ‘Burbs was nominated in one category at last week’s Creative Arts Emmys: Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music. Michael Abels’ composition ultimately lost to Dave Porter’s theme for Pluribus.

She also won the award for Outstanding Actress in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series in 2022 for Turnt Up with the Taylors.
