A museum in Canada seemingly confirms Heated Rivalry’s Connor Storrie is joining Billie Eilish in The Bell Jar adaptation

The since-deleted post thanked the cast and crew for “another wonderful film experience.”

It looks like Connor Storrie might be celebrating his recent Emmy nod by getting right back to work!

A Friday morning post from the Parkwood National Historic Site —a museum in Oshawa, Ontario, in the home of the late Robert Samuel McLaughlin, the founder of General Motors of Canada — claimed the Heated Rivalry star had visited the site to film scenes alongside Billie Eilish for Sarah Polley’s upcoming film adaptation of Sylvia Plath’s seminal novel, The Bell Jar.

The reel from the museum’s official Instagram page featured a photo of a bouquet and a statement written over the photo that reads: “That’s camera wrap on Parkwood’s role in the Sarah Polley directed film, The Bell Jar, starring Billie Eilish in her cinematic debut, along with Connor Storrie.”

“Thank you to the cast and crew for another wonderful film experience and we wish you all the best of luck with the rest of your shoot,” the statement continued in the post’s caption. “Parkwood National Historic Site is pleased to partner with Film Durham to promote the growth of the film and television industry in Durham Region.”

The museum even shared that a “Parkwood greenhouse grower” made Eilish a bouquet of Parkwood florals to “welcome her to the historic site, and her green room, within the mansion, for the duration of the shoot.”

The Instagram post has since been deleted.

Reps for Parkwood National Historic Site, distributor Focus Features, Polley, Storrie, and Eilish did not immediately respond when Entertainment Weekly reached out for comment.

Eilish’s casting in the adaptation was announced back in March. The film marks both the Oscar winner’s film acting debut and Polley’s first since 2022’s Women Talking, the emotional ensemble drama that won her the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. Polley, an actress herself, is also known for directing Away From Her and Take This Waltz, writing 2017’s Alias Grace miniseries, and playing herself on an episode of The Studio.

Eilish has previously been the subject of several documentaries and concert films, as well as appearing in the Prime Video series Swarm from Donald Glover and Janine Nabers. The performance earned her the People’s Choice Award for TV Performance of the Year and a supporting performance nod at the Independent Spirit Awards.

Storrie’s alleged involvement in the film has been kept under wraps, but it’s no surprise that the actor is collecting roles after his breakout turn on the Crave queer hockey drama that became a viral sensation after the show’s premiere on HBO Max late last year.

While Heated Rivalry isn’t eligible for Emmy nominations, Storrie scored a nod in the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series category for hosting Saturday Night Live in February.

But the success of Heated Rivalry cannot be denied! In addition to turning Storrie and co-lead Hudson Williams into overnight A-listers, the series scooped up honors from organizations including the GLAAD Media Awards, Peabody Awards, and the Canadian Screen Awards.

The Television Academy also recognized Heated Rivalry in May as an Honors recipient for being a show that advances social change.

The Bell Jar is the only novel by Plath, an acclaimed writer best known for her poetry. The semi-autobiographical book chronicles the life of Esther Greenwood, a talented undergraduate student who begins an internship with a New York City magazine. But despite the glamour and excitement of big-city life, Esther can’t seem to feel the joy experienced by her peers and instead struggles through a gradual mental breakdown. The character’s mental illness famously parallels Plath’s own experiences with depression: the author died by suicide a month after publishing the 1963 novel under a pseudonym.

An adaptation of The Bell Jar was previously in the works with Kirsten Dunst attached to direct and Dakota Fanning set to star. The film would have marked Dunst’s feature film directorial debut, but the project eventually fell through.
