Carey Mulligan Honored with CBE from King Charles, Gets Support from Husband Marcus Mumford

Carey Mulligan just received a prestigious award from the King of England!

The 40-year-old Oscar-nominated actress was joined by her husband Marcus Mumford while attending the investiture ceremony at Windsor Castle on Tuesday (March 31) in Windsor, England.

King Charles presented Carey with a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) for her services to drama.

CBE is the highest ranking Order of the British Empire award. Below it are the Officer or Member awards. The only honor higher than CBE is being made a Knight or a Dame.

Carey told PA Media, “I feel so unbelievably lucky to get to do a job that I really, really love. To have this kind of recognition on top is just sort of extraordinary to me.”At the event, Carey was also asked who she thinks will be the next James Bond.“Oh, my gosh, that’s so hard. Really hard, isn’t it? He’s got big shoes to fill. I think the thing about Daniel is that he was an extraordinary actor, I don’t think he was sort of the person you would have thought of for that part,” Carey said. “I think the main thing is it’s just got to be someone who’s an incredible actor.”
