Jeremy Renner enjoyed a rare public outing with his daughter.
The Marvel star, 55, posed with his daughter Ava, 13, at the 24th annual Alice nella Città film festival at the Auditorium Parco Della Musica in Rome on Friday, Oct. 23.
The father-daughter duo dressed elegantly, with Renner wearing a gray suit and his daughter in a black shirt with a light pink skirt.

Renner welcomed his daughter with ex Sonni Pacheco in 2013. The Hawkeye star became a dad later in life at 42, which he once said was “the best thing” he’s ever done.
“By then I achieved a lot of things that I wanted to achieve; I’m so blessed for that. Now I can really spend time with the family,” he told Capitol File magazine in September 2014.
The Hawkeye star had to make some adjustments to his very busy filming schedule after welcoming his daughter, saying his “perspective on things” had changed. “The only thing I think about when I’m not with my baby is, ‘How do I get to my baby?’ ” he said. ”I’m very miserable when I don’t see her. I really love being a father.”
Being a dad has changed Renner in other ways, too. “She makes me the best version of me,” he said in a PEOPLE exclusive clip for his show Rennervations. “She inspires me to be better.”
While the loving dad tends to keep his child out of the public eye, Renner previously shared a post on his Instagram Stories of his daughter recording for the audiobook of his memoir, My Next Breath. Speaking exclusively with PEOPLE at A Sense Of Home 10th Anniversary Gala last October, the actor revealed why he posted the photo despite keeping her out of the spotlight.
“She sort of inserted herself into that scenario by writing the essay early on in the thing. So I asked her, at the end of writing the book, if I could put her essay in the beginning of the book,” Renner said.
He continued, “I totally forgot about the idea that she’s going to have to do the narration of that too. So I was just reminded and so proud of how far we’ve come as a family, how far we’ve come as father and daughter.”

Renner attended the event — which benefits the Los Angeles–based nonprofit A Sense of Home and their mission to prevent homelessness — with his sister Kym Renner. The two were honored during the gala for their philanthropic work through the RennerVation Foundation.
Renner later explained that when he makes posts about his daughter on social media, he always covers her face with an emoji for a specific reason.
“I got to protect my girl,” the father of one said, adding that he’s “just very proud of her and how far she’s come.”
