Eric Dane‘s upcoming memoir features a major assist from his Euphoria costar.
The Grey’s Anatomy actor’s posthumous book, My Book of Days: A Memoir in Moments will hit shelves on Nov. 3 — and Penguin Random House’s website revealed that Jacob Elordi is one of the narrators for the project’s audiobook.
Maria Shriver, whose imprint The Open Field is releasing the book, is also listed as a narrator for the project.
A representative for Penguin Random House tells Entertainment Weekly that Elordi reads the majority of the audiobook, while Shriver reads the “Dear Reader” chapter of the book — which Shriver wrote herself — and is about Open Field.

Elordi portrayed Nate Jacobs, the brooding son of Dane’s Cal, on Euphoria. The actors reunited for the show’s third (and supposedly final) season, which aired on HBO earlier this year and proved to be one of Dane’s last screen appearances.
Dane appeared in two episodes of Euphoria season 3, and expressed his adoration for the series shortly before his death. “It’s great to be back. It’s been a long time waiting for season 3,” he told Access Hollywood in June 2025. “We are shooting a really great TV show.”
The Last Ship star also shared his appreciation for Elordi in another interview before his death. “Jacob and I have a pretty profound amount of respect for each other off set,” Dane told Too Fab. “He’s a really great person. And he’s a lot of fun to work with. He’s a super committed actor, which allows us to sort of talk craft here and there. And we love doing that. It’s just a great time working with him.”
Dane died on Feb. 19, 10 months after he publicly announced his ALS diagnosis.
Shriver paid tribute to Dane shortly after his death. “I’m heartbroken by this devastating news about Eric Dane. What a tragedy,” she wrote. “He was so heroic the way he handled his diagnosis. He used his voice to let the world know what it was like living with ALS.”
Shriver also discussed Dane’s forthcoming book. “I was honored he chose my publishing imprint to publish his memoir. He told me he wanted his family to know how much he loved them, and he wanted to leave them a story they could be proud of,” she wrote. “Godspeed, Eric. It was an honor to know you, and we will honor your story.”

Dane’s memoir includes reflections on his battle with addiction and the moment that he told his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, about his ALS diagnosis.

“I say to Rebecca on the phone, ‘It’s what we feared.’ I don’t remember a single word I said after that,” Dane writes in the book, per an excerpt published by PEOPLE. “My sobs make my body shudder, and I hear her words pouring out amid her tears, ‘I’m here, we’ll fight this together, I’m not going anywhere.’”
