Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro Make a Glitzy Red Carpet Debut After a Year and a Half of Quietly Dating

One of Hollywood’s most private couples just made their red carpet debut. Andrew Garfield and Monica Barbaro stepped out for their first carpet together on October 11 at the Artificial premiere during the London Film Festival.

The couple leaned away from overly matching looks for the outing, with Barbaro opting for a shimmering ice-blue sequined slip midi dress with a ruffled hem, paired with silver strappy sandals, and Garfield sporting a brown blazer, brown silk shirt, and chocolate brown pants. He wore his ever-lengthening waves tucked behind his ears.

“She’s a wonderful actor,” he said to Entertainment Tonight at another recent red carpet event. “She’s so talented I’ve been a fan of hers for so long and she brings this kind of mysterious enigma of a person in this film to life in such a […] complex and human way. And I can say that about all of this cast.”

Last February, People reported that Garfield had been “quietly” dating Barbaro after they were spotted together in London. “They’ve been really low-key and have been spending time together quietly,” said the source.

Last May, Barbaro made a solo appearance in a black-and-white Christian Dior dress at the 2025 Met Gala. In a video captured by Cosmopolitan, she could be seen meeting up with Garfield after the main event. A few months later, the duo made a chic appearance at Wimbledon in matching tennis whites. They repeated the outing this summer. In August, Garfield supported Barbaro at the New York premiere of her film One Night Only, appearing at the after-party, but skipping the red carpet.

Garfield famously prefers to keep his relationship private. In 2024, he told Esquire, “I have never, and I won’t ever, speak about or confirm or deny anything about my personal life with anyone, ever.”
