Apple Original Films celebrates the premiere of “Matchbox: The Movie” in New York with cast and special guests.

Apple Original Films held the highly anticipated premiere of Matchbox: The Movie at the AMC Lincoln Square in New York City. The red carpet was graced by the film’s main cast, including John Cena, Jessica Biel, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris, and Arturo Castro. John Cena also caught the photographers’ attention by posing alongside his wife, Shay Shariatzadeh.

The event also featured the participation of the film’s talented young and supporting cast, including Graham Harvey, Aiden Stoxx, Braxton Paul, Max Fox, and Reagan Marum, who joined together to celebrate the release of the blockbuster.

Inspired by Mattel’s iconic line of miniature cars, the film combines high-speed action and comedy. The plot follows Sean (John Cena), a former soldier who reunites with his childhood friends and finds himself involved in an international chase to recover a valuable artifact and clear their names.

Directed by Sam Hargrave (Extraction) and produced by Skydance Media and Mattel Films, Matchbox: The Movie premieres globally on Apple TV+ this coming Friday, October 9, 2026.
