Christina Aguilera Cuddles Up to Fiancé Matthew Rutler During PDA-Filled Yacht Vacation in Italy

Days after performing at a Monaco charity gala, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer enjoyed a romantic, sun-filled day on the water with her fiancé of 12 years

Christina Aguilera and her longtime fiancé Matthew Rutler were all loved up during a romantic boat day in Italy. 

On Monday, Sept. 21, the “Genie in a Bottle” singer, 45, was spotted enjoying a PDA-filled outing on the water with her MasterClass executive fiancé, 41, in Portofino. During the excursion, Rutler was spotted taking the singer for a spin as she wrapped her arms around him. In another snap, the couple leaned in for a sweet kiss.  

For the excursion, Aguilera sported a blue bandana around her head with a white top and matching flowy pants. Meanwhile, Rutler opted for a simple blue button-down and a pair of khaki pants. At one point, Rutler went shirtless for a dip in the water.

The sun-soaked day on the Mediterranean came a few days after the former Voice coach appeared at the 20th anniversary gala for the Prince Albert II Foundation on Sept. 18. 

On Sept. 23, the “Lady Marmalade” singer shared a few pictures from the event on Instagram. With Rutler by her side, Aguilera stunned in a black Versace dress and Chopard jewelry before performing for attendees. 

Aguilera and Rutler are far from the only big names to visit Portofino this year. In August, Dua Lipa shared a look at her girls’ trip to the stunning seaside village. In July, Michael Jordan and his wife Yvette Prieto were spotted arm-in-arm as they strolled through town. 

The European adventure is just another highlight in the couple’s 16-year relationship. 

Aguilera and Rutler first met when they were both working on the 2010 movie Burlesque. She starred as the lead in the musical drama while he worked as a production assistant.

In December 2010, two months after Aguilera filed for divorce from her ex-husband, music producer Jordan Bratman, she spoke to PEOPLE about getting to know Rutler. When asked if she was in love, the Grammy-winning singer responded, “There’s a love there, yes. I’m having fun, I’m dating and it’s something I haven’t had in a really long time.”

A few years after they began dating, the pair got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2014. In a post on X, Aguilera posted a photo of herself and Rutler holding hands in front of a beach with her engagement ring on display. She wrote alongside the picture, “He asked and I said……”

A few months later, the couple welcomed daughter Summer Rain on Aug. 16, 2014. Summer is Aguilera’s second child. She also has a son, Max Liron Bratman, born in January 2008, with her ex-husband.
