There’s more steamy Texas drama coming.
Netflix unveiled the first look photos of The Hunting Wives season 2 on Thursday, Aug. 20, and while few details are known about the next installment of the series, it’s clear that Margo (Malin Akerman) and Sophie (Brittany Snow) are far from finished with each other.
One of the photos released shows the pair of friends-turned-secret-lovers in bed together, while another shot of them facing each other in a bathroom hints that there’s tension lingering.
According to Netflix’s Tudum, the pair’s “passion … has grown even more electric” in season 2, while Margo’s husband Jed Banks (Dermot Mulroney) is running for governor, and Deputy Salazar (Karen Rodriguez) is “hot on the trail of another big case.”

Fans also got their first look at John Stamos, who joins the cast as Chase Brylan. While little is known about his character, he told PEOPLE in March that it’s “darker than I normally do.” Widow’s Bay star Dale Dickey, Cam Gigandet, Kim Matula and Alex Fitzalan also join season 2.
Per the official logline, “Sophie and Margo are on the outs” when season 2 begins. “But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games, the question arises: Are they the hunters or the hunted?”

Akerman, 48, told PEOPLE in June that season 2 is even “wilder” than the jaw-dropping first. “They really went for it. We were way up there for season 1. There is [even more room to go], and that was the thing that we couldn’t believe,” she said.
“All of us were shocked. As we read the scripts — they were coming in as we were filming, so we were equally as surprised as, I hope, the audience is going to be.”
The twists, Akerman said, were impossible to predict. “There was no way you were going to guess all of this. Maybe there were a few storylines where we can see where this is going, but, no, there are a lot of surprises.”

Snow, 40, has promised that the new season is “more steamy” than the first. “We’ve filmed some scenes, we’ve played some Reneé Rapp. We got into a groove. We’re doing it,” she told E! News on the red carpet at the 2026 Golden Globes. “A lot of things happen this season that are very shocking, I will say. It’s gonna leave people very angry but in a sexy way.”
Season 2 of The Hunting Wives premieres Nov. 26 on Netflix.
