Bradley Cooper and Monica Barbaro Seen on Paris Set of New Ocean’s Eleven Prequel

Monica Barbaro and Bradley Cooper costar with Margot Robbie, Wagner Moura, Josh Gad and more in an ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ prequel, set for release in June 2027

Bradley Cooper and Monica Barbaro are getting their heist on in Paris.

Cooper, 51, and Barbaro, 36, were spotted on the set of the upcoming prequel to Ocean’s Eleven for the first time in France’s capital on Tuesday, Aug. 18.

Sources previously confirmed with PEOPLE in March that Cooper had signed on to the project as a writer and director after filmmaker Lee Isaac Chung (Minari, Twisters) stepped down earlier this year. Cooper was photographed wearing a headset on the movie’s set, while Barbaro was seen having her hair adjusted by a member of the film’s crew and wearing a luxurious blue-and-white costume.

The two Academy Award-nominated actors costar in the upcoming prequel to George Clooney‘s heist franchise alongside Margot Robbie, who has been attached to the project since 2022, when her publicist told PEOPLE that she and director Jay Roach were developing “an original Ocean’s film set in the ‘60s.” 

The Hollywood Reporter noted in July that actors Vicky Krieps, George MacKay, Jack Holden, Lauren Ridloff, Omar Sy, Wagner Moura and Josh Gad have also joined the movie’s cast. The untitled prequel is expected to follow Danny Ocean’s parents, played by Cooper and Robbie, at the 1963 Monaco Grand Prix, with Moura portraying a villain character, as the outlet reported.

Robbie said at CinemaCon in April that audiences will see Danny Ocean’s parents “in their prime” in the new film. Filming for the Ocean’s prequel started roughly 10 months after Clooney, 65, said in October 2025 that he and much of the original Ocean‘s cast aim to shoot the sequel Ocean’s Fourteen by the end of 2026.

“There was something about the idea that we’re too old to do what we used to do, but we’re still smart enough to know how to get away with something, that just appeals to me,” Clooney told Variety of the project in December.

The new movie is Cooper’s fourth as a director: he made his directorial debut in 2018 with A Star Is Born and has since directed the Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro and last year’s Is This Thing On?. Cooper wrote and acted in each of those three movies.

The untitled Ocean’s Eleven prequel is expected to steal its way into theaters June 25, 2027.
