‘Camera’ Lyrics: Charli xcx Casts Vincent Cassel in Music Video, Reflects on Acting in New Song

Charli xcx is premiering the next visual from her upcoming album, Music, Fashion, Film.

The 33-year-old “Rock Song” superstar dropped the music video for “Camera” on Tuesday (July 21), which stars Vincent Cassel.

The 59-year-old Black Swan French actor appears in the “Film”-oriented release from the project, following the “Music” single (“Rock Song”) and the “Fashion” single (“SS26”).

The clip finds Vincent repeatedly rehearsing a scene getting shot, getting angry as things go wrong while Charli helms the camera. The song, meanwhile, sees Charli reflecting on her recent foray into acting, and reflecting on how it makes her feel.

“Do I wanna make music? Am I being f–king stupid If I try to be a girl on the screen when I’m turning thirty-four?” she ponders.

Later on in the song, she decides to pursue her acting venture, anyway.

“I don’t feel embarrassed even if I suck / I’m always craving an experience that feels dangerous / And maybe this is it, maybe it’s what I need / ‘Cause it’s the only way to feel like I’m not actually me,” she declares.

Music, Fashion, Film will be released on Friday (July 24).
