JoJo Siwa says she’s feeling “wedding vibes” as she and boyfriend Chris Hughes prepare to celebrate their first anniversary.

While chatting exclusively with PEOPLE at the 2026 Snappy Awards Show in Santa Monica, Calif., on March 31, the “Karma” singer, 22, shared how her brother Jayden Siwa’s recent nuptials gave her a little wedding “fever.”

“Of course, it gave me the wedding vibes,” JoJo said, adding that it had her thinking of her future with Hughes, 33. “I mean, obviously our relationship’s very new. We’re creeping up on our one-year anniversary. So we’re getting there, but we’ve got time. And obviously, I think that marriage is, of course, in Chris’ hands, and so when he feels the time is right, I’ll be ready. Maybe. I’m just kidding.”

JoJo — who met Hughes while starring in season 24 of Celebrity Big Brother UK and publicly confirmed their romance in June 2025 — said “it’s wild to think” that it’s been almost a year since she began dating the English TV presenter.

“It’s been the best year ever, and it’s only gonna go up from here,” she said, before sharing how the pair will mark the relationship milestone. “We don’t have plans yet. Surely we’ll celebrate somehow. Hopefully, we get to be together. And if not, we’ll celebrate while we’re apart.”

Jojo went on to rave about Hughes, telling PEOPLE, “He’s my person,” and sharing how he recently planned a romantic surprise for her. “He came to my show in Birmingham [in October 2025]. And he surprised me — I didn’t know he was coming,” the “Boomerang” singer recalled. “That was really nice.”

This isn’t the first time that JoJo has teased a future engagement and wedding with Hughes. Back in January, the Dance Moms alum posted a photo of herself as a bride on Snapchat. She could be seen wearing a white lace dress, a veil with a jeweled headband and a glittery necklace and earrings.

She wrote over the image, “Call me a wife.”

JoJo and Hughes also playfully bantered about a future engagement in a joint interview with The Sun‘s Fabulous Magazine in December, ahead of spending their first Christmas together. JoJo joked that if Hughes hadn’t proposed in seven years, she might take matters into her own hands.

Hughes said, “You always get people who get engaged [at] Christmas. You see it on Instagram, every year you’re gonna see somebody who gets engaged. I kinda like the idea of it not being at a time where it could be expected.”

JoJo jokingly replied, “Alright, you’re keeping me guessing, aren’t you?” before asking, “But what if I got him a ring?”

Hughes then admitted that he would be “uncomfortable” if he were proposed to rather than being the one to pop the question.

JoJo recently revealed to PEOPLE that it was Hughes who inspired her forthcoming single, “Serendipity,” out on April 7.

“The inspiration behind that is my very sweet love, Christopher,” she said while stepping out to the premiere of the Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special on March 23.

“Well, our lives connecting and meeting are like serendipity,” she continued. “It’s my favorite word, so I had to write a song about it.”

Reflecting on how she and Hughes keep their connection strong, JoJo told PEOPLE that it’s simply a matter of knowing when it’s “right.” She explained, “I think that when it’s meant to be, it is, and when it’s meant to be, it’ll be right.”
