Benjamin Bratt (Andor) has signed on to star alongside Viola Davis and Jason Clark in Ally Clark, the new thriller from Amazon MGM Studios, on which we were first to report last June.

Character details haven’t been disclosed.

The film will take viewers from the towering skyscrapers of New York City to the sweltering bayous of Louisiana and the icy peaks of Alaska, following investigator Ally Clark (Davis) as she embarks on a perilous inquiry into an international conglomerate following the suspicious death of a close friend.

Phillip Noyce is directing from a script by Jose Ruisanchez and Irwin Winkler, reuniting with Bratt here for the first time since 1994’s Clear and Present Danger. The project puts Bratt back in business with Amazon MGM on the heels of Balls Up, their forthcoming action-comedy directed by Peter Farrelly, where he stars alongside Mark Wahlberg, Paul Walter Hauser, and Molly Shannon.

Winkler Films’ Irwin Winkler, Charles Winkler, David Winkler, and Ruisanchez are producing Ally Clark alongside JuVee Productions’ Davis and Julius Tennon. JuVee’s Melanie Clark is exec producing alongside Ian Watermeier.

Known for his work in films including Leon Ichaso’s Piñero, Steven Soderbergh’s Traffic, and Curtis Hanson’s The River Wild, Bratt’s upcoming slate also includes Dan Fogelman’s Hulu NFL drama The Land, as well as Season 2 of Ballard for Prime Video. Most recently, he’s been seen in Season 2 of Disney+’s Star Wars prequel series Andor, as well as Edward Burns’ film Millers in Marriage, Netflix’s Mother of the Bride, and Apple TV’s Loot.

Bratt is represented by Circle Management + Production, CAA, and Myman Greenspan Fox.
