Kate Walsh (Grey’s Anatomy) is returning to her multi-camera comedy roots with a lead role opposite Rhys Darby in the CBS pilot The Tillbrooks (fka Regency), from Tara Hernandez and Warner Bros. Television.
A historical spin on the classic multi-cam family sitcom, The Tillbrooks centers around the upper-middle class Tillbrooks as they navigate life, love, and scandal in 19th Century England.
Walsh will play the Tillbrooks matriarch Jocelyn who knows what she wants and expects to get it. Highly theatrical and exceedingly ambitious, Jocelyn can frequently be found breaking out into song or scheming for ways to elevate her family’s status.
Previously cast are Darby as the family patriarch Arthur Tillbrooks, Hayley Griffith as the Tillbrooks’ eldest daughter Maureen, Mia Challis as the youngest daughter Wilhelmina, and Shiv Pai as the head groundskeeper Henry.
Child actor Jax James has been set in the series regular role of Dougie, Maureen’s only son who is not even ten but acts like a 60-year-old scholar and has no time for childish fancies.
Walsh’s first notable TV role was playing a major recurring character on the ABC’s multi-camera sitcom The Drew Carey Show, which, like The Tillbrooks, was produced by WBTV and filmed on the Warner Bros. lot, as did another multi-cam sitcom she recurred on simultaneously, The Norm Show, from the same creator, Bruce Helford.
Walsh is probably best known for her role as Dr. Addison Montgomery, which she originated on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy before she headlined spinoff series Private Practice. Walsh has continued to reprise the character on Grey’s, most recently earlier this season. Her recent TV series credits also include Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why, The Umbrella Academy and Emily In Paris. Walsh, who stars in the upcoming feature comedy What the F*ck Is My Password?!, is repped by Gersh, Principal Entertainment and Yorn Levine Barnes.
James is repped by Bex Elliff at Creative Artists Management.
